Boston, MA Erich Thalheimer has been named national technical specialist for acoustics and vibration at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff.

In his new position, Thalheimer will assist acoustics and vibration staff at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, with responsibility for resource management and technical excellence.

An acoustical engineer with 30 years of professional experience, he has been with WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff for 20 years, coming on board in 1996 to manage the noise control program for the Central Artery project in Boston. Other major accomplishments include developing the FHWA’s construction noise model (RCNM) and writing the New York City construction noise regulation.

Thalheimer is an award-winning, recognized leader in the acoustical industry, is board certified by the Institute of Noise Control Engineering, has authored over two dozen technical papers, and is a frequent presenter at professional noise and vibration society conferences.  He received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He is a member of the Institute of Noise Control Engineering, National Council of Acoustical Consultants, and the Transportation Research Board.
