The Davis Companies has appointed Jordanna Ferreira as chief financial officer and chief compliance officer. Ferreira is a seasoned real estate fund management professional with experience working in growth-oriented companies such as Davis. She will oversee all aspects of the company's financial activities, including debt and equity financing, investor reporting, capital markets strategies, risk management, information technology and human resources and will play a key role in supporting The Davis Cos.' on-going development. Ferreira will serve on the senior management team and investment committee of the firm.
"Jordanna is a proven leader of real estate investment funds on behalf of institutional partners. She brings a style to our team which will encourage and sustain our existing successes and our growth. She has consistently enhanced performance and expansion while managing finances and investments in a variety of asset classes. She is the ideal candidate to participate in determining the long term strategic direction of the company and in assisting in raising the company's institutional profile," said Jonathan Davis, CEO and founder of The Davis Cos.
For more than 25 years, Ferreira has established a successful track record for closing deals, structuring funds and contracts, and enhancing performance reporting and analytical capabilities, allowing companies to expand their investment footprint and investor base. Most recently, she served for 13 years as principal and chief financial officer for MacFarlane Partners, a real estate investment management firm in San Francisco, which grew from zero to $24 billion in assets under management during her tenure. She also managed MacFarlane's entire financial, human resources, and technology functions. Previously, Ferreira served as campaign controller for U.S. senator Dianne Feinstein, and managed her own tax and consulting firm in Oakland, CA after beginning her career with PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
"It would take a unique opportunity to persuade me to leave the west coast, but The Davis Cos. presented such an opportunity. I admire the firm and Jonathan Davis for the boldness, creativity and vision that have been their hallmarks. The early success of Davis Investment Ventures Value Opportunity Fund I is proof that the firm continues to be a leader in real estate investment. The commitment to thoughtful growth in the service of their investors is a challenge I cannot wait to tackle. I am proud to be a part of this team," said Ferreira.
Ferreira earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business. She has been involved in various community associations, including serving as the former board president and treasurer for San Francisco Friends of the Children, and a member of the Professional Business Women of California.
