Braintree, MA Top ranking national hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital, hosted their annual Mix 104.1 Cares for Kids Radiothon to raise funds for the families of patients and research. Since 2003, this event has raised over $9.2 million to support the life-saving care and research at Boston Children’s Hospital, one of Tremont Credit Union’s largest Select Employer Groups (SEG).

For the third consecutive year, Tremont Credit Union employees raised funds for this worthy cause through Jeans Day on Fridays. Through these weekly donations, Tremont Credit Union’s staff raised $1,000 for Boston Children’s Hospital, which Tremont Credit Union matched to bring the total donation to $2,000. During the hour of Tremont Credit Union’s donation, one caller offered to match all donations up to $20,000, boosting the Tremont Credit Union donation to $4,000. Several Tremont Credit Union board members and staff also made donations during the radiothon.

In addition to the funds, six Tremont Credit Union employees volunteered their time to answer the phones at the Radiothon from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 23 at Boston Children’s Hospital.

“This was my third year in a row volunteering for this event,” said Tremont Credit Union CFO and Radiothon Volunteer James Roy. “Supporting Boston Children’s Hospital through the Mix 104.1 Cares for Kids Radiothon has become an annual tradition at TCU, as many of our members work for Boston Children’s Hospital, and we want to show that we can not only help their staff achieve their financial goals, but help their organization as well.”

During the Radiothon, Mix 104.1 radio personalities urged listeners to call in to make one-time payments or become “Dream Makers” by making monthly payments. The station shared stories of the families and had live interviews with families who benefited from the hospital’s world-class care.

Tremont Credit Union (TCU) currently provides financial services to approximately 20,000 members operating from four locations; 350 Longwood Avenue, Boston; 150 Grossman Drive, Braintree; 10 Corinth Street, Roslindale; and, 180 Mount Vernon Street, Dorchester. With a focus and strong roots in the education and healthcare segments, TCU continues to support their founding Select Employee Groups: The Boston Teachers Union and Boston Children’s Hospital. Membership is available to those who live or work in Middlesex, Norfolk, and Suffolk Counties.
