Norwood, MA Morse St. is fast becoming the food mecca for the Rte. 1 corridor from Dedham to Foxboro. Six months ago, Boston Tavern opened a 6,400 s/f restaurant for lunch and dinner, offering many large screens throughout the restaurant for sports watching. In early March, As Good As It Gets Café opened next door. Business was excellent until the pandemic came, and the restaurant closed. The great news is As Good As It Gets Café is now open again, and the crowds are coming back. 

Imam (Eli) Sanousi, marketing director of the chain said, “We looked very carefully where we wanted our second store to be located, and we felt Norwood had strong demographics. We were looking at several spaces in Norwood when we met Dan Waldman. He showed us the space on Morse Street and then brought the landlord to our corporate office. We liked both Dan’s and the landlord’s philosophy that this must be a win-win. Dan wanted us to be a tenant for a long time and that was a true partnership. Part of my job is to assess strong locations for us. In fact, we are researching several other towns north of Boston.”

Waldman commented that the space was previously a 4,500 s/f pizza shop which was the ideal size for As Good As It Gets Café, and the landlord was able to save some of the equipment and infrastructure for the build out. Sanousi also said, “In addition to the size of the space and Norwood’s strong demographics, we like being next to Boston Tavern as we specialize in serving great breakfasts and lunch while Boston Tavern is more of a lunch, dinner and sports bar restaurant. We complement each other.”

Waldman said, “CMi Properties is the landlord and was instrumental in getting this deal done. We still have one more property to lease across the street and we would like to put a Hibachi or Mexican concept to round out the area.”

Waldman also noted that he has several properties under agreement for sale and will be making an announcement next month.
