ATA Engineering leases 3,800 s/f
office at 500 Cummings Center

Beverly, MA San Diego-based ATA Engineering established a Massachusetts foothold at 500 Cummings Center. Its custom-built, 3,800 s/f space will serve as northeast regional headquarters for the aerospace engineering contractor.

Founded in 2000, ATA develops software for advanced engineering projects in the aerospace, defense, mining, biomedical, and consumer products industries. It has supported testing of military and commercial products throughout the world as well as aerospace structures in the U.S.

ATA currently operates offices in four western states and in Washington, DC. Its new location positions the firm for future expansion along the Northeast, according to Cummings Properties leasing officer Jake Heger.

“Cummings’ ability to keep pace with client growth makes it an ideal partner for a fast-growing firm like ATA,” said Heger. “With a portfolio of 11 million s/f, we can typically accommodate evolving space needs in short order – and often within the same building.”

Heger worked with principals Glenn and Tommy Friedrich, of Cresa San Diego, and Joe Doyle, of Cresa Boston, on the transaction. “We value the professional relationships we have at Cresa,” said Heger. “Collaborating with Glenn, Tommy, and Joe made it easy to create a leasing arrangement that meets the client’s needs.”

Cummings Properties’ Beverly portfolio includes Cummings Center, the North Shore’s largest office and research park, and Dunham Ridge, a 54-acre business and technology center directly abutting Rte. 128, adjacent to North Shore Music Theatre.

Together, those campuses house several hundred businesses, including corporate headquarters, medical offices, software firms, research laboratories, and micro-businesses.

ATA Engineering provides test- and analysis-driven design for aerospace, defense, themed entertainment, consumer products, and industrial and mining equipment. It uses computer-aided engineering software to problem-solve for its clients and to design, analyze, and test complex, highly engineered structures.
