Ferry Terminal Landside Reconstruction Project

Woods Hole, MA Colantonio Inc. has been awarded the Woods Hole Ferry Terminal Landside Reconstruction Project by the Woods Hole, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority (Steamship Authority). 

The reconstruction will involve various landside improvements, including a new ferry terminal building, utility structure, attendant booths, bus berths, and overall upgrades to site utilities and vehicle accommodations. 

Sustainable features of the project will include the installation of an energy-efficient geothermal heat pump system for both heating and cooling in the terminal and the utility structure. The Steamship Authority aims to attain LEED Version 4 for Building Design and Construction certification for this project, underscoring its commitment to sustainability.

The one-story 7,050 s/f terminal building will feature a waiting area, offices, a staff break room, and a telecommunications/data room.

The utility building, standing at two stories and spanning 8,900 s/f, will accommodate a multi-purpose room, locker room, staff break room, telecommunications/data room, and ample storage space.

The project architect is BIA.Studio.
