Faigen of Riemer & Braunstein named recipient of CREW Boston's Professional Service Award

Martha Faigen, a senior partner with Riemer & Braunstein's banking and finance practice, received CREW Boston's Professional Service Award at the real estate group's 17th annual Achievement Awards event on April 30. Faigen will be recognized for her significant contributions to the real estate law field in Greater Boston, as well as to Riemer & Braunstein, over the past 35 years. Faigen primarily represents local and regional lenders in a variety of commercial real estate mortgage, acquisition and refinance, and construction loan transactions in Mass. and other states. As part of her practice, Faigen also reviews and advises on real estate and title insurance issues, purchase and sale transactions, and zoning opinions for developers and lending institutions, as well as assisting lenders in Mass. with reviews of Mass. real estate issues Claudia Piper, senior vice president at Webster Bank and president of CREW Boston, nominated Faigen for the award. "One of the things that most impresses me about Martha, and also one of the reasons that I believe she deserves this award, is that she is a significant contributor within her firm and consistently operates at the highest level of her profession, but she never seeks the spotlight or expects accolades," Piper said. "To Martha, she is just doing her job. To all of us who work with her, she is an exceptional attorney." "I have known Martha for over 20 years, where we have worked on a wide range of legal matters, from new loans, workouts credits, all the way to loan collections," said Joseph Greenough, senior vice president of commercial real estate lending at Salem Five Commercial Banking. "Martha is the consummate professional with exceptional knowledge in commercial real estate law. What makes Martha stand out from other well-regarded legal professionals is her candor and practicality. In short, if Martha Faigen is representing you, you know you are in good hands." "Martha is a valued member of our real estate finance practice," said Stanley Riemer, managing partner at Riemer & Braunstein. "She is not only respected but beloved by her clients, their customers, and other attorneys. On behalf of everyone at Riemer & Braunstein, we congratulate her on this award." CREW Boston's Awards Program began in 1996 with the Networking Award and grew to recognize members in six categories, ranging from an entrepreneurship award for business owners, to a leadership award that honors a member who has inspired, motivated and supported CREW Boston year after year.
