Hayes joins BOND as vice president

BOND has hired Frank Hayes as vice president. In his new position Hayes will work with the company leadership to set strategic focus and implement various processes and programs to ensure BOND reaches its long-term goals. Additionally, Hayes will be involved in many aspects of the day-to-day operations, offering input and strengthening the design and project delivery processes. Hayes joins BOND from Shawmut Design & Construction where he served as vice president in the academic department. At Shawmut, he oversaw every aspect of the business, from bidding and winning projects right through to the execution of the work. Prior to Shawmut, Hayes was with Harvard Business School in a succession of roles from senior project manager, director of construction to chief of operations, and spent several years at William A. Berry & Sons, Inc. At Harvard, he oversaw the implementation of the "Master Plan," which included several new buildings and multiple renovations, totaling over $200 million in cost. Hayes was responsible for a multitude of tasks in his position as chief of operations at HBS, including facilities, food service, security, housekeeping, planning and construction. At Berry, he worked in the healthcare division with Brigham and Women's Hospital Center for Women and Newborns; several BWH satellite centers were among his many projects. Upon being hired by BOND, Hayes called attention to the firm's history, its welcoming culture, and prestigious reputation, "BOND is a company that has been built on solid values over the past 100 years and I felt that the day I walked in the front door. I am thrilled to join a group of technical experts who excel at building complex projects for their clients. I feel particularly well-aligned with the mission and goals of the company, and I look forward to working with this team." Hayes received an AS degree in civil engineering from the University of Lowell, and from there continued his education at the Harvard Business School in the Program for Management Development. An active member of the industry and community, Hayes is a member of Society of College and University Planning; corporate member of Fenway Alliance; member of Association of Independent Colleges & Universities of Massachusetts; architect selection committee member for Department of Community & Housing Development; and serves on the board of Rebuilding Together Boston.
