Hines and Callahan Construction Managers celebrate expansion of Marina Bay boardwalk

Quincy, MA Hines, Callahan Construction Managers and mayor Thomas Koch helped launch a public boardwalk celebration at Meriel Marina Bay, the city’s newest waterfront apartment community. The event commemorated the expansion of the Marina Bay boardwalk with a ribbon-cutting led by mayor Koch, followed by a free boardwalk festival adjacent to Meriel Marina Bay.

The development of Meriel Marina Bay has nearly doubled the size of the existing Marina Bay boardwalk, further enhancing this neighborhood which features condominiums, retail and restaurants, as well as a 686-slip marina. Meriel Marina Bay is comprised of two, five-story buildings featuring 352 apartments with ample garage parking and 20,000 s/f of ground-level retail space ideal for dining establishments and specialty boutiques.

Featuring a variety of layouts including studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom homes, the apartments at Meriel Marina Bay offer views of the Boston skyline, Boston Harbor and the Marina Bay boardwalk. 

Meriel Marina Bay also provides access to Downtown Boston via car, a free shuttle to the North Quincy Red Line T and a seasonal water ferry. Since launching leasing this past Spring, the property has generated impressive demand with over 25% of available apartments leased.

The celebratory event, known as MMB By The Sea: Boardwalk Expansion Celebration featured local artisans and crafters; music and giveaways from KISS 108; an appearance by the Patriots Cheerleaders and Pat Patriot; live entertainment by The Waves; food trucks including Boston Burger Company, Del’s Lemonade and Clyde’s Cupcakes; as well as a beer garden by Ipswich Ale Brewery. The event also included an exclusive fashion show hosted by Boston-based designer Denise Hajjar.

 A portion of proceeds raised at MMB By The Sea was donated to the Quincy School ~ Community Partnership.
