Boston, MA Finegold Alexander Architects has completed its renovation of Boston City Hall’s council chamber. City Hall is the seat of government for the city, housing the mayor’s office, the city council, numerous departmental offices as well as the Boston Planning and Development Agency.  

PROCON completes Row Hotel and Alloy Condos at Assembly Row

Somerville, MA This past fall the Row Hotel by Marriott at 360 Foley St. opened to guests. It was the completion to a 13-story, 315,000 s/f mixed-use development that includes 122 luxury residences, 22,000 s/f of retail spaces, and the world class hotel. PROCON designed and built the property in partnership with REIT firm Federal Realty Investment Trust and XSS Hotels. 

Vaida named senior project manager at DMS design

Beverly MA Mariana Vaida, LEED AP has joined DMS design, llc as a senior project manager. Vaida brings a wealth of architectural and interior design expertise from over 35 years of experience with project management and construction administration, and is the recipient of numerous design awards. In addition, she is the founder of PV+M LLC, a real estate development and design firm specializing in the renovation of historical homes on Boston’s North Shore. 

SLAM incorporates 1960s design into Fairfield Univ. residence hall

Fairfield, CT The S/L/A/M Collaborative (SLAM) completed the design and planning for the new 65,000 s/f, living/learning residence hall, 42 Langguth Hall, accommodating students primarily in the Ignatian Leadership Residential College. Gilbane, Inc. provided the construction services. SLAM designed the building to provide durable, energy efficient construction with an aesthetic complementary to the existing residential buildings on the residential quad.

RODE strengthens leadership team with associate appointments

South Coast Improvement completes $13m phase at Atria Stamford

Stamford, CT South Coast Improvement Company (SCI) finished the final phase of renovations at the Atria Stamford senior living facility located at 77 3rd St. The company began the $13 million project in summer 2017 and completed in August 2018. The project featured the renovation of 137 resident room renovations at this high-rise, assisted living facility. This included the conversion of common space areas into two luxury penthouse apartments with an outside terrace decking system.

Kaplan Construction begins work on 25-unit JFK Crossing - a five-story, 42,000 s/f mixed-use building at 420 Harvard St.

Brookline, MA Kaplan Construction has started construction on JFK Crossing, a five-story, 42,000 s/f  mixed-use building at 420 Harvard St. being developed by Aura Properties LLC. Kaplan is responsible for demolition and construction management for the project, which was designed by Embarc Studio.

Caritas Communities breaks ground on O’Connor Way

South Boston, MA Caritas Communities broke ground on 46 units of affordable housing for seniors at 5 O’Connor Way. Caritas Communities was joined by mayor Martin Walsh and others, including officials of the Boston Housing Authority, the Boston Planning and Development Agency, and the South Boston Neighborhood Development Corp., which under the leadership of Donna Brown is a partner with Caritas on the project on land donated by the Housing Authority.
