A.P. Construction Company breaks ground on $22 million Boys & Girls Club project

Greenwich, CT A.P. Construction Company (APC) has broken ground on the new construction and renovation project for the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich to expand and enhance its facility.  Governor Lamont and other officials were in attendance for the groundbreaking ceremony held on October 23rd. The clubhouse was built in the 1930s and this is the club’s first major renovation project in nearly 20 years. 

NAI Glickman Kovago & Jacobs brokers $1.1 million sale of 18,000 s/f industrial building

Putnam, CT Holzknecht Holdings LLC sold its 18,000 s/f industrial facility at 1 Ridge Rd. to Dandeneau Properties LLC. NAI Glickman Kovago & Jacobs (NAIGKJ) vice president, Jeff Borus, represented both parties in the transaction saying, “This transaction represents a significant step forward for both parties. Putnam Plastics, an engineering and manufacturing company that specializes in polymer tubing used in medical devices, will occupy the building.

Shawmut Design and Construction begins work on 45,000 s/f YDS Living Village residence hall

New Haven, CT Shawmut Design and Construction joined Yale Divinity School (YDS) on October 11 to officially break ground on the Living Village, a living building residence hall for divinity students. Set to open in 2025, the 45,000 s/f, 4.5-acre project will be the largest residential living building on a university campus anywhere and is designed to meet the standards of the Living Building Challenge (LBC), an international certification system that promotes sustainable design and construction.

Saugatuck Commercial Real Estate completes leasing at 1835 Post Road East

Houlihan Lawrence names Haidinger Darien brokerage manager

Darien, CT Houlihan Lawrence has named Courtney Haidinger manager of its local brokerage.  Haidinger, a former Houlihan Lawrence agent, has been a realtor for 12+ years, serving buyers and sellers of properties in Darien, New Canaan and Rowayton, and has returned to Houlihan Lawrence from Compass.  Prior to entering real estate, Courtney built her skills during a career in national and local advertising sales in both television and radio.

Wettenstein of Vidal/Wettenstein brokers two transactions - $4.12m

Newtown, CT Bruce Wettenstein, SIOR and partner with Vidal/Wettenstein was the listing broker for two transactions, a retail shopping plaza and an industrial flex building, totaling $4.12 million.  The retail shopping plaza located at 14 Church Hill Rd., has been sold. The sale price for the 17,557 s/f plaza which is on 2.17 acres, sold for $3.37 million or just under $192 per s/f. The property had been owned by Church Hill & Queen LLC, and the purchaser was Arrowhead Properties, LLC.

Joyal of Lila Delman Compass sells The Point House for $7.5 million

Stonington, CT Lila Delman Compass has sold ‘The Point House’, 5 Water St. for $7.5 million. Lori Joyal, managing broker of Lila Delman Compass’ Watch Hill Office, represented the seller. According to data maintained by the CT SmartMLS, this transaction marks the highest single-family home sale ever recorded in this town. 

Fellah of HK arranges acquisition of 449 Boston Post Rd. for $2 million

Orange, CT Franco Fellah, executive vice president at HK Group represented the buyer in the acquisition of the 13,660 s/f freestanding retail building located at 449 Boston Post Rd. The building was previously owner occupied, doing business as Chef’s Equipment Emporium.

Viking Construction presents 2023 Construction Education Award to Quattrocchi

Bridgeport, CT Steven Quattrocchi of Norwalk has received the 2023 Viking Construction Education Award. This year, Viking Construction presented Quattrocchi with a full set of tools which he needs to participate in a four-year carpentry apprenticeship with the North Atlantic States Carpenter’s Training Fund. Through this classroom and hands-on training program, Quattrocchi will develop skills and field knowledge that qualify him to become a journeyman within the carpentry field.
