Smith joins WS Development as vice president, head of corporate marketing

Boston, MA WS Development has hired Maggie Smith as the new vice president, head of corporate marketing. Smith joins WS most recently from Toth+Co. where she was senior vice president, director of brand & marketing. As part of Toth’s core leadership team, Smith was responsible for the health and success of client partnerships as well as business development efforts. Prior to Toth+Co., she worked for locally-based global agency, Arnold Worldwide, as vice president, marketing director. Her responsibilities included overseeing accounts in apparel, footwear and retail banking service industries. While at Arnold, Smith also contributed to the agency’s new business machine – managing pitches and prospecting to more than thirty brands, yielding a track record that led to Arnold’s designations of “Ad Age’s Comeback Agency of the Year” in 2010 and “A-List” in 2011.

Prior, Smith worked in New York City for Carlson & Partners, a boutique Omnicom-owned agency (now Roberts & Langer DDB). While there, she managed multiple consumer packaged goods accounts as well as contributed to agency branding and new business efforts. Since beginning her career on Madison Ave., Smith’s passion for branding has stemmed from the belief that creativity is a marketable business advantage.
