This month marks the start of our new ?scal year, and the second year of my presidency in my two-year term. Our Annual Meeting of the Membership was held on March 22 at The Foundation and we had a tremendous turnout! Thank you to the more than 120 members who joined us as we reviewed our accomplishments for Fiscal Year 2022-2023

Boston, MA On March 16th, over 300 BOMA members and guests came together at the UMass Club for a night to support charitable partner Bridge Over Troubled Waters. Guests enjoyed a photobooth, passed hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and donated through our direct donation as well as raffle tickets.

Wellsely, MA CAI Legislative Action Committees (LACs) work to affect change and monitor state legislation that will impact communities around New England. In 2023, LAC delegates have seen active legislative sessions that include several bills of interest to community associations in their states.

Boston, MA IFMA Boston will host their 5th annual one day conference FMForward in conjunction with their 20th Annual Awards of Excellence on Wednesday, May 10th at Bentley University. This year’s event keynote is Dr. Joe Hirsch.

Plymouth, MA Ellis Realty Advisors (ERA) has completed the sale of 203 & 205 Taylor Ave., also known as The Sandpiper Inn. The fully leased 16-unit inn sold for $2.375 million to JTMF LLC. Colin Moynihan, senior partner at ERA, represented the seller and procured the buyer.

Norwood, MA CBRE has completed the sale of a 16-property, 2,155-key hotel portfolio located across nine states. A joint venture between Dallas-based Newcrest-Image and Phoenix-based Hospitality Capital Partners (HCP) acquired the portfolio for $137.3 million.

Brookline, MA Continuing its commitment to expand local housing options, Chestnut Hill Realty has opened a 127-unit apartment building in the Hancock Village apartment home community in Brookline with a ribbon-cutting held on March 31.

Franklin, MA Greg Pauplis has joined North Easton Savings Bank as senior vice president, Commercial Lender. With twenty plus years in the commercial banking industry focused on commercial real estate, residential and commercial construction, C&I, non-profit organizations and SBA 504 loans, Pauplis' significant experience will aid in the Bank’s current expansion in commercial and small business lending.

Canton, MA Standard Communities has acquired Canton Estates Apartments, a naturally-occurring affordable housing family community. The total capitalization of the transaction is $18 million. Located at 32 Neponset St. and 16 Bailey Ct., about 20 miles south of Boston,
