Wayne J. Griffin Electric provides services for 456,000 s/f Avalon Natick project: Callahan, Inc. serves as construction manager for 424 apartment units

Wayne J. Griffin Electric, Inc. (Griffin Electric) has recently completed the electrical installation work at Avalon Natick. Part of AvalonBay Communities, Inc., this new high-rise luxury apartment complex consists of two buildings, 10 and 11 stories high, with a total of 424 units equaling approximately 456,000 s/f. Studio, one bedroom, two bedroom and penthouse floor plans are offered to residents, featuring high-end finishes and features. The construction also included a clubhouse with gymnasium, as well as an in-ground pool, plus a four-story parking garage. The Griffin Electric team was responsible for the installation of two 4000 amp services, one 800 amp and one 400 amp service, as well as site lighting, interior lighting and two 300kva emergency generators on-site. Additionally, systems for fire alarm, bi-amplification antennas, telecommunications to MHNC distribution boxes, access control systems, intercom and lightning protection were setup by Griffin. AvalonBay Communities served as the project's general contractor, with Callahan, Inc. the construction manager. The architect was Russell Scott Steedle & Capone Architects, Inc., and the electrical engineer, Wozny / Barbar & Associates, Inc. "On this project, as with every electrical installation we perform, maintaining a superior level of workmanship was a top-priority for our team," said Wayne Griffin, president of Griffin Electric.
