Diversified Project Management (DPM) held their 16th annual Golf Tournament to benefit the Central New England chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at the Hopkinton Country Club.
"I am happy to report that this year's event was another sell-out and raised over $65,000 with 100% of the net proceeds going directly to the Central New England chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society," said Bob Keeley, president of Diversified Project Management. "To date, this brings our total raised to almost $550,000. This is truly amazing, especially given the current economic climate."
With a score of 57, the team from Wakefield Moving & Storage, netted the lowest score, beating out the 35 other foursomes. DPM's Jeff Gutsfeld won the longest drive and Barry Morrison from Bryant University won the closest to the pin.
"The money raised at this tournament will help fund vital support services for more than 10,000 families in Mass. and N.H. affected by multiple sclerosis," said Keeley. "This event brings the National Multiple Sclerosis Society one step closer to having the capability to find a cause and cure for this unpredictable disease using state-of-the-art scientific research."
Multiple sclerosis is the most common neurological disease of young adults, often diagnosed in young men and women between the ages of 20 and 40. The disease can cause a myriad of symptoms, including paralysis, visual problems, lack of coordination, and speech disorders. Because the course of multiple sclerosis is highly variable, it is a disease that robs young adults of emotional and physical security.
