Boston, MA Margulies Perruzzi Architects (MPA), has completed the re-design of the Boston office of Robinson+Cole, a national law firm with nine offices in the Northeast, Florida, and California. Providing space planning and interior design services, MPA substantially updated the office design and created a conference center in Robinson+Cole’s Boston office at One Boston Place. The design of the new reception area announces a more modern office and ushers visitors into the adjacent conference center. Featuring a suite of conference rooms and a large breakout pantry area, the new conference center allows the firm to better serve its clients as well as accommodate public groups of various sizes. “It was important to us that Robinson+Cole’s Boston office re-design incorporate a new, updated conference center that was welcoming and comfortable, but which also provided the space, flexibility and technology necessary to accommodate all our clients’ needs,” said Michael Wirvin, a member of Robinson+Cole’s managing committee. “From the start, MPA understood our vision and designed a beautiful and bright space that clients and staff can both enjoy.” With an emphasis on natural light and warm neutral colors, MPA’s design created an open and modern reception area to welcome visitors. Underutilized areas in the old office were condensed to accommodate new common use functions, such as showers and other support areas. The break room was also significantly upgraded with new finishes and furniture. In order to allow Robinson+Cole’s business to continue during construction, MPA phased the renovation schedule and utilized available swing space. Garland Building Company served as construction manager for the project, and WB Engineers and Consultants provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services. CBRE New England provided building management services to the owner of One Boston Place.
