NEI General Contracting wraps up construction on $16.4m 65-unit Village at Nauset Green for Pennrose, LLC

Eastham, MA NEI General Contracting, an award-winning general contractor and construction management firm, has completed the Village at Nauset Green for Pennrose, LLC. The $16.4 million, 65-unit development provides much needed affordable and workforce housing by offering 39 affordable units for people earning 60% of the area median income (AMI), 11 affordable units for people earning 30% of the AMI, and 15 workforce units. Four units are ADA accessible.

Designed by The Architectural Team (TAT), the design aims to evoke the local Cape Cod style and create a small village feel for residents and the community at large. Centered around two common green spaces that offer recreation opportunities for people of all ages, the development features 27 one-bedroom, 31 two-bedroom, and seven three-bedroom apartments across 18 two and three-story wood-framed buildings. Located within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the Cape Cod Rail Trail, Village at Nauset Green amenities include a community building, community garden, playground, and picnic area for residents.

“For nearly 50 years, Pennrose has been working to improve the lives of working families by creating safe and secure housing communities. When we were chosen for our first venture in Massachusetts, we selected NEI due to their long history of building high quality affordable housing,” said Charlie Adams, regional vice president at Pennrose. “They worked closely with our team during pre-construction, design, and construction and we appreciate all their hard work in helping us stay within our budget and schedule.”

The Village at Nauset Green will help the community’s affordable housing needs by transforming a vacant lot into a high-quality development and helping to ensure the Outer Cape remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family.

“With our dedication to building affordable housing, we share Pennrose’s mission of transforming communities by creating high-quality real estate developments,” said Joe Rettman, president of NEI. “We strive to deliver outstanding value to our clients and partners on each and every project.”
