How have you adapted and changed in the last 12 months? As this last year has unfolded and the challenges have presented themselves, there have been both positive and negative outcomes in adapting to its trials.
Why should women consider a career in the A/E/C industry? A career in the A/E/C industry provides multiple opportunities to discover different facets of your profession that you might not have been exposed to during your education
How have you adapted and changed in the last 12 months? In the past 12 months I went from a sports company focused on retail, to fiber optic communication cable manufacturing, and then finally landed in construction.
What are you most looking forward to post-pandemic? On a professional level, I look forward to returning to the office and being surrounded by my colleagues who are all so talented and kind. Zoom can’t replace in-person exchanges.
Why should women consider a career in construction? Competitive Salary - A pay gap exists between men and women across most industries. On average, women in the United States earn 80 cents for every dollar a man earns.
Starting out in the construction business, who or what empowered you? Being a woman and a pregnant woman (first time in 15 or so years that anyone here at Jewett Construction had been pregnant), the staff and executive team treated me with the care and consideration and made me thankful for choosing this company!

Starting out in the construction business, who or what empowered you? I was fortunate that during my undergraduate studies at Boston University there were many women in the engineering department.
What was your greatest professional achievement or most notable project in the last 12 months? My greatest achievement in the last 12 months was seamlessly closing our old work space in Somerville and establishing our new office
