Why the A/E/C Industry? I chose to go into plumbing because at a young age I knew that I wanted to work in a trade with my hands and be outside, I didn’t want a desk job. I attended a trade school where I went through many fields and found plumbing the most challenging and knew it was for me.
Why the A/E/C Industry? My father was an electrician so I grew up visiting job sites. I enjoyed seeing a building come together. I would look at the framing and try to figure out what room we were in – where the closets, fixtures, and counters would end up.
What does your firm do and any plans for the future? Since 2014 I have been producing a theatrical-length documentary film, “Hard Hatted Woman.” We are currently in the editing stage. It will be the first feature documentary about women who work in construction trades.
Why the A/E/C Industry? For me, my career in the A/E/C industry started in civil engineering and later moved into the practice of construction law. Wearing either hat, A/E/C requires problem solving and values working together as a team to brainstorm a solution.
Why the A/E/C Industry? I started off in architecture, graduating with a bachelors of science in Architecture. While I loved designing, I realized I liked being able to make a design come to life much more!
