Worcester, MA According to Weston & Sampson, Leah Stanton, PE, has transitioned to chief operating officer (COO), effective July 1.

A specialist in municipal drinking water infrastructure, Stanton joined the firm in 1996 after receiving her master of science degree from the University of New Hampshire. Her early career included working with water system hydraulic modeling, master planning, and utility and distribution system infrastructure. That experience served as a building block for her deeper understanding of hydraulics and mechanical systems. Additionally, her interest in construction and buildings helped her to evolve into a professional engineer specializing in water plants. In addition to her new role as COO, Stanton recently finished a three-year term on the board of directors.

As COO, Stanton will help oversee the company’s day-to-day operations to ensure they are efficient, effective, and aligned with the firm’s vision and values. She will also work closely with the rest of the executive team and the board of directors to develop and execute the company’s strategic vision and goals.

Frank Ricciardi, PE, LSP, the firm’s CEO, said, “I’m truly thrilled to be able to collaborate even more closely with Leah as we work as a team with others to help guide the future of Weston & Sampson. I’ve known Leah for over 20 years and trust her business skills and instincts implicitly. This is a significant step forward for us and I am excited for what the future holds.”
