Year’s end, and what a year it was. Taking a breather over retail happenings is really not possible these days as the retail world is still eternally trying to find the “new norm.” Regardless of whether or not there is or will ever be a new norm, there is constant conversation, alarming headlines, attempts at analysis, and reams of data on retail. 

Somerville, MA Bernard Gibbons of ABG Commercial Realty brokered the sale of 111-153 South St. for $13.5 million. The property was purchased by DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners from JJ Vacaro, Inc. 111-153 South St. is a 3.44 acre development site in the Boynton Yards area of the city, located south of Union Sq. and its new MBTA Green Line Extension Station. 

Stonington, CT Ceruzzi Holdings LLC completed the purchase of four acres of land in conjunction with Readco, LLC.  In August 2018, Ceruzzi and Readco received approvals for the development of a 25,000 s/f medical office building for Hartford HealthCare at 350 Liberty St. (Rte. 2), near the R.I. border. Construction of the facility commenced in September 2018 and is expected to be completed this summer.

Hudson, MA Tyler DeWolfe, senior vice president at Greater Boston Commercial Properties, Inc. represented the owner, 577 Main Street, LLC, in leasing 26,947 s/f to six different tenants at 577 Main St. These tenants include: 

Bedford, MA Columbia Construction Company completed construction of the new headquarters for Boston MedFlight, the non-profit critical care medical transport provider. The 54,000 s/f facility, located on the civilian side of Hanscom Field, consolidates all functions under one roof

Boston, MA The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of Boston is excited to kick off the New Year with a roundtable program on Tuesday, January 15th. Waltham, MA Not left out of the headquarter expansion game, TG Gallagher will be moving its headquarters from Cambridge to 309 Waverly Oaks in Waltham in the spring. A move that will consolidate the company under one roof and provide the necessary space to support the company’s rapid growth.

Needham, MA The New England Real Estate Journal (NEREJ) held its second annual “Changing World of Commercial Real Estate” summit on December 6th at the Sheraton Needham Hotel, 100 Cabot St. The event also honored Harold Brown, chairman emeritus of The Hamilton Company, with an induction into the NEREJ’s Blue Jacket Club. He was also presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award. 

Boston, MA Newmark Knight Frank (NKF) completed the $845 million sale of 53 State St. to a joint venture between Allianz Real Estate of America, Beacon Capital Partners and the Pension Reserves Investment Management Board (PRIM).

Warwick, RI Colliers International’s Capital Markets team arranged $16 million in financing for Briarwood Meadows, a 552-unit multifamily community. Spread across 36 acres, the 100% market rate community consists of 32 residential buildings, a fitness center, an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, tennis courts, a clubhouse and parking.

Hingham, MA A.W. Perry has partnered with Vantage Builders, Inc. on a core and shell renovation project to redevelop and reposition 4 Pond Park, A.W. Perry’s former South Shore regional headquarters in South Shore Park.
