William Raveis Massachusetts acquires GKR Residential in South Boston

According to Chris Raveis, managing partner of William Raveis Massachusetts, the company recently acquired GKR Residential in South Boston. Since opening their doors in 2007, GKR Residential boasts over $341 million in total volume closed. The acquisition follows a record end to 2012 for William Raveis, with $1.7 billion in total volume in Mass. alone. "We are fortifying our Boston presence, already established by our Back Bay and South End offices," said Raveis. "GKR's extensive knowledge of the South Boston community will be an invaluable addition to William Raveis, and we're thrilled to make them a part of our family." William Raveis began expansion in Mass. nine years ago and is now one of the largest independent brokerages in the state with 29 offices and over 600 agents and employees. "Over the years, I have had many companies approach me. After taking the time to evaluate and understand the business models of the various options, it was clear that William Raveis was where I wanted my future to be," said Jay Rooney, president of GKR Residential.
