Nashua, NH DECCO, Inc. has shared the results of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) National Craft Championships, which were held in Las Vegas. DECCO’s apprentices Dan Wilson and Jon Farr each earned silver medals in their respective categories: pipefitting and GTAW (TIG) pipe welding. Owen Kepple also competed in the SMAW (stick) pipe welding category, though he did not place in the competition. However, Kepple had a remarkable showing last year, winning the bronze medal in the TIG welding category

“We are proud of our apprentices and the exceptional way they represented DECCO, our instructors, and our training programs. To tackle some of the construction industry’s most challenging projects, we focus on cultivating top-tier talent. Having three of our apprentices compete against the best of the best on a national level, and win medals, is a proud achievement for our company,” said Kyle Reagan, CEO of DECCO. “These three individuals exemplify DECCO’s Merit Shop Philosophy where we encourage advancement through lifelong training, while rewarding strong work ethic and exceptional work. DECCO is proud to be home to one of America’s most recognized apprenticeship programs, and we celebrate the careers in construction we provide for the best in the business.”

The National Craft Championships is an annual, high-stakes competition that invites hundreds of apprentices from across the country to compete in 16 different skill competitions across 12 different trades. The competition emphasizes safety, real-world working conditions, and teamwork, while allowing competitors to showcase the craft skills they’ve honed throughout their apprenticeships. DECCO is grateful to the ABC Mass. Chapter and the Gould Construction Institute for their sponsorship of the DECCO team.

DECCO takes great pride in its federally registered Pipefitting Apprentice Program, which is designed to offer individuals the hands-on training and education essential for success in the field. With a proud legacy spanning more than 90 years, DECCO is honored to have had over 200 employee-partners participate in our Apprentice Program over the past 15 years, achieving an impressive 100% success rate in meeting program requirements and earning trade licenses. These results demonstrate the effectiveness of DECCO’s comprehensive apprenticeship program and highlight the company’s commitment to preparing individuals for success in their craft. DECCO extends its heartfelt congratulations to its apprentices for their dedication, perseverance, and exceptional work in mastering their trade.
