What was your greatest professional achievement or most notable project in the last 12 months? My greatest professional achievement was being appointed as Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Dellbrook | JKS. Being the first black woman in an Executive level position
Why should women consider a career in construction? Construction is a great, fast paced business. If women enjoy seeing something come to life and being a part of that, then it is a career for you. Seeing something go from paper to reality is such an awesome process.
Starting out in the construction business, who or what empowered you? Growing up I was always interested in how things worked, taking things apart and putting them back together. I knew from an early age that I wanted to become an engineer so that I can take my love for building and turn it into a career.
What are you most looking forward to post-pandemic? From a professional standpoint, I am most looking forward to being able to visit our jobsites again, attend in person seminars, and shaking people’s hands. From a personal standpoint, I am looking forward to gathering
What steps have you taken to ensure the continued success of your firm? By implementing a COVID1-9 site safety plan and putting the jobsite health first this past year we were able to get the different crews, inspectors, consultants and design/ownership teams on board to stay open.
Starting out in the construction business, who or what empowered you? The people I’ve been surrounded by have empowered me for sure. Having a strong CEO who shows how he values the staff and supports their growth. Learning and Development and the people they choose to lead our training sessions.
What was your greatest professional achievement or most notable project in the last 12 months? 2020 was a surprisingly strong year for Brennan Consulting. We are one of Boston’s youngest WBE firms and 2020 continued as a growth year in both market sectors and client base
What was your greatest professional achievement or most notable project in the last 12 months? I collaborated with local officials, town departments and especially the planning department to permit a 28-unit condominium project in an Overlay Village Center District.
What was your greatest professional achievement or most notable project in the last 12 months? I started an online graduate certificate in Enterprise Risk Management through the Boston University Metropolitan College. I have one more class – Disaster Management – before completing
What steps have you taken to ensure the continued success of your firm? Working at a relatively new firm, my team and I have the opportunity to work together to determine the standard operating procedures of our firm. We have been able to share our diverse backgrounds and experiences
